Vital Ethics’ Pediatric Advanced Life Support course is designed for health care providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a pediatric patient, whether in or out of a hospital setting. Through the PALS class, health care providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the pediatric victim of respiratory compromise, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, and other critical emergencies that are sometime common to the pediatric patient. PALS emphasizes the importance of a systematic approach to assessing the injured or ill pediatric patient and the integration of effective basic life support with pediatric advanced life support interventions.
Upon completion of the PALS provider course health care providers will leave PALS with a better understanding of the dynamics of pediatric emergencies and the unique challenges that pediatric patients often present. Our objective is to instruct, challenge, and evaluate the health care professionals ability to apply PALS algorithms with a systematic approach given a variety of scenarios. Certification is valid for two years.
The initial ACLS provider course requires the book prior to class which is shipped by UPS upon completion of registration. The book can also be picked up at our office by appointment for students who are registering close to the actual class date.
