This is a 16 hour course that covers the ECC recommendations for cardiac emergencies, based on the 2005 updated standards. This course covers bradycardia, tachycardia and pulseless arrest algorithms. Some stroke awareness will be covered. Written and practical exams will be preformed by students. Certification is valid for 2 years.

Prerequisites: CPR (Professional Rescuer) Initial Certification Class = 16 hours Recertification = 8 Hours

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

 

This 16 hour course is based on 2005 ECC recommendations for advanced pediatric resuscitation. The course includes management of pediatric cardiac arrest, associated arrhythmias Written and practical exams will be preformed by students. Certifications are valid for two years.

ADULT CPR/AED

Includes:
legal/ethical concerns, preventing disease transmission, calling 911 and dispatcher communications, basic assessment techniques of the injured or ill, scene management, adult CPR, automated external defibrillation(AED), and removal of airway obstructions. This class meets the requirements for school teachers, day care providers, foster parents, coaches, etc.

Traditional Class Length: 3.0 - 4.0 hours
Accelerated Class Length: 1-2 hours ( 60% online 40 % in class)

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (Health Care Provider)

Includes:
legal ethical concerns, preventing disease transmission, general assessment techniques, managing the code, rescue breathing, adult, child, and infant CPR, automated external defibrillation (AED), and removal of airway obstructions.
This class meets Basic Life Support (BLS) requirements for medical professionals, including RN's, paramedics, EMT's, CNA's, lifeguards etc. NOTE: 6 hours is the scheduled time for training. Class time may be shorter.

Accelerated Class: 1-2 Hours (60% online 40% in class)

FIRST AID BASICS

Child Care Provider Overview

There is an additional $5.00 per card service fee for child care providers receiving state required EMSA endorsement stickers. Remember, although First Aid certification is valid for three years the State of California requires daycare providers recertify CPR & First Aid every TWO years. Vital Ethics offers CPR certification that is valid for two years.
